PART OF THE JAZZ & CABARET FESTIVAL 2020.
Blackboard Theatre Collective and JTM Productions present an all singing, all dancing tribute to the man who went on to become the most famous dancer of all time.
Bringing back the old-world glamour and charm are Christchurch locals Jeremy Hinman and Hillary Moulder, who present many of Fred’s most iconic numbers with their 3 piece band.
The 75 minute show takes the audience from Fred’s humble beginnings on Broadway, all the way to his Hollywood days and onscreen romance with his many leading ladies (Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn – just to name a few) all set to some of the music that pioneered the jazz and blues sound.
A Fine Romance has completed several years touring successfully across Australia dazzling audiences with the stunning costumes, the glitz, the extraordinary dancing and of course, the music, while also sharing stories about Fred and his incredible life.
Featuring a script by Margaret Fisk (JTM Productions), direction and choreography by Jeremy Hinman and original arrangements by Shannon Whitlock, this show has something for everyone and will leave audiences humming a few iconic tunes and a spring in their step.
Songs include: The Way You Look Tonight, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off, Cheek To Cheek, Puttin On The Ritz, Top Hat, That’s Entertainment, S’Wonderful, Night & Day, I Won’t Dance and many more.

It’s about a block from the bus exchange, and if you are bringing your car then there is street parking down Hereford Street or use the Lichfield Street Carpark, it’s just a stone’s throw away!
