From the crime filled streets of 1960s Christchuch, to the attic of Judy garland’s apartment in her final days, to a lonesome cottage in Winton. Dusty solos takes you on 3 distinct journeys which are all united by their exploration of the dark and the feminine. There are evil things afoot on the streets of Christchurch. A body has been found and there is only one woman capable of uncovering the mystery surrounding its tragic end - detective Norma Patterson. Classic film noir meets Brokenwood mysteries, Norma Patterson and the White Tea Society is a whodunnit solo that is so entertaining - it’s a crime Death Becomes Her Do you know the tale of New Zealand’s most notorious woman? No, not Suzanne Paul - Minnie Dean. The Winton Baby Farmer is infamously the only woman ever to be sentenced to death in New Zealand. And her story has remained untold for hundreds of years - until now. If Tim Burton got a sex change and made a solo at an underground club in Berlin - this would be it. Sensing Judy Born Francis Ethel Gumm, Judy Garland saw a rise to fame unlike any child star before her, however momentous highs were soon followed by crushing lows which would haunt Garland until her final days. Sensing Judy is the story of one’s boys attempt to re connect with the long gone icon and find what lies in that place, somewhere over the rainbow…..
