Brynley Stent: Bird of the Year (Work In Progress)

This is a baby work-in-progress show where I’m trying out comedy bits that will (hopefully) one day become a fully grown show. It’s loosely based on the moment in 2021 when the pekapeka-tou-roa (long-tailed bat) won New Zealand’s Bird of the Year - despite being a mammal, and very much not a bird.

There are stories and silent bits and theatrical bits, and ideas I’m excited to test in front of real people. Some of it might be FUNNY! Some of it might FAIL SPECTACULARLY! Either way, you’ll be among the only people who ever see it before some of it is quietly laid to rest in the comedy graveyard.
