Black Window: A Poetry Object by Josiah Morgan

In the lead-up to National Poetry Day on 28 August, join us for the launch of Josiah Morgan's Black Window, performed with live musical accompaniment by Dominic Hamilton.

Titled after Ralph Hotere's painting Black window - toward Aramoana, the chapbook explores censorship, redaction and privacy in the 21st century through Morgan's signature satiric queer voice.

Black Window is the latest chapbook by Josiah Morgan, published as part of Poetry Aotearoa Yearbook 2026.

Award-winning poet Tracey Slaughter calls Black Window an acceleration "through a glass darkly...culture's cutting edge[s radiate] out in electric fragments."
