PALAVER
Verb. To talk unproductively and at length.
Noun. The Palaver Grand a show were Shay Horay has the pleasure of interviewing a dais of world class entertainment legends.
The Palaver is Christchurch’s version of Graham Norton hosted by Mr Shay Horay.
Entertainment stalwart Shay Horay’s latest creation is an intimate and off the wall evening of Palaver.
Tonights Guest is Wilson Dixon, he comes from a long line of cattle farmers on one side of the family and country musicians on the other. The farmers have unfortunately experienced a statistically much higher rate of workplace accidents than you would normally expect, so with his two arms and ten fingers Wilson was the only one in the family who could conceivably carry on the family tradition of being a guitar plucking country singer. As Wilson’s Daddy used to say, you can play the drums with one hand and a stump but it’s far harder to play a banjolele.
Wilson has enjoyed many successes over his career, playing with bluegrass legend Earl Scrote on his seminal album If You Asked Me Whether It was You or Me I’d Say It Was You, being theten time honorary judge of the the Miss Two-By-Four beauty pageant at the Cripple Creek Annual Wood Festival, and, due to his personal connection to workplace accidents, has raised over $100,000 for the Broken Balloon Animal Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of Rodeo Clowns.
