Wonder

Wonder is a new contemporary theatre work that stages the tension between inner imagination and outer reality. The work centres on Wonder, a woman whose private world is populated by animated household objects: protectors, critics, and companions. In contrast, the people in her everyday world — colleagues, neighbours, and authority figures — appear in mask, rendering reality itself as heightened, theatrical, comic and strange.

As Wonder begins therapy and edges toward change, the object-world that has sustained her begins to fracture. Through a rich collision of theatrical forms, Wonder explores what it means to grow beyond the fantasies that once kept us alive.
